Trophy Award

Wirral Decorators Award Success
An Ellesmere Port painting and decorating firm secured a top honour at a prestigious national awards ceremony that recognises the cream of the industry’s talent.
E & P Painting Contractors, of Rossmore Trading Estate, Rossfield Road, saw off competition from across the UK to take the Decorative category at the Premier Trophy Awards, organised by the Painting and Decorating Association (PDA).
The award was presented to E & P – along with paint suppliers Dulux – for the quality of their work at the Trafford Centre, Barton Square, in Manchester.
Representatives from the company travelled to London for the prestigious ceremony, held at the magnificent Painters’ Hall. Arthur J Ellis, David Thelwell and Gary Barlow received the trophy on behalf of the company.
Gary Barlow said: “We are absolutely delighted to have received the award. The work on site was complex and intricate and involved gold leafing, plaster coving, murals and marbling. It was a real test of skill and we are delighted that the work has been recognised by the PDA.”
Paul Marsden, chief executive of the PDA, said: “E & P Painting Contractors demonstrated great craftsmanship, skill and expertise to achieve the award, which recognises and rewards the highest standards in the industry.”

Notes to Editors
The Painting and Decorating Association, which has its headquarters in Nuneaton, was established in July 2002, following a merger of the British Decorators’ Association and the Painting & Decorating Federation. The British Decorators’ Association was originally founded in 1894.
The PDA is Britain’s largest trade body, dedicated to the painting and decorating trade. Members include sole traders through to large-scale national contractors employing hundreds of operatives.
Decorators looking to become members of the PDA are rigorously vetted prior to admission. Members are committed to the highest standards in health and safety practice, as well as training development.
The PDA is proud of its long history and high standards, and a registered member can be relied upon to do a good professional job at a fair price.
